Scarlet Sunrise: Buckeyes fall in nonconference action at Texas A&M
COLUMBUS — For the first time in Jake Diebler’s first year as the head coach, Ohio State has lost. The Buckeyes fell at Texas A&M on Friday night, falling to 2-1 on the season and dropping a tough nonconference game against a ranked team.
No. 21 Ohio State made a 3-pointer to open the game, but No. 23 Texas A&M answered with two baskets to take the lead, and the Aggies never trailed again. Final score: Texas A&M 78, Ohio State 64.
Bruce Thornton had 15 points for the Buckeyes, but it wasn’t enough to top the Aggies in College Station. Freshman guard Juni Mobley added 13 points, while Micah Parrish had 10.
Ohio State will return to action Tuesday night in the Schottenstein Center against Evansville. Tip-off is at 6:00 p.m. and will air on BTN+.
