Multiple Buckeyes hoops targets move in latest On3 Top 150
COLUMBUS — Ohio State prospects found new spots in the latest version of the On150.
The rankings are compiled and updated by the On3 national recruiting staff and reflect a summer’s worth of tournaments and workouts by current 2023 recruits across the country.
The Buckeyes currently have two commits in their 2023 class but are hopeful to round out the class in the coming months.
Lettermen Row is breaking down the latest evaluation on the Ohio State prospects and what it means for coach Chris Holtmann moving forward in the cycle.
No. 135 George Washington III
The Buckeyes only commit who has a top-150 evaluation is four-star Christian Academy Of Louisville (Louisville, Kentucky) guard George Washington III.
Washington was recently the No. 105 rated prospect according to On3, but slides down 30 spots to remain in the top 150. The 6-foot-2, 165-pound guard has been committed to Ohio State since November 3, 2021. He was also the first player in the 2023 class to commit to the Buckeyes.
No. 26 Devin Royal
Ohio State is after one of the best players in the country in newly minted No. 26 Devin Royal.
The four-star Pickerington Central (Ohio) power forward is just 30 minutes east of the Ohio State campus and remains one of the most important priorities for Chris Holtmann and staff.
On3 National Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw reported that the Buckeyes are the favorite to land the 6-foot-6, 205-pound player who is also the No. 1 prospect in Ohio.

Royal’s addition to the class would be a big boost for the currently No. 22 nationally ranked and No. 4 in the Big Ten.
No. 80 Carey Booth
Carey Booth slid down two spots but remains in the top 100 of the latest On150.
The four-star Cherry Creek (Englewood, Colorado) power forward has an official visit planned to Ohio State for September 8 and it will be his first visit to Columbus. A 6-foot-10, 195-pound player, Booth is currently the No. 2 rated player in Colorado according to On3.
The Buckeyes are the second-favorite to land Booth with a 27.4-percent chance according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Marquette is the current favorite at 31.4 percent.
No. 95 Scotty Middleton
Another one of the Buckeyes top priority prospects is a top-100 player in four-star Sunrise Christian (Miami, Florida) small forward Scotty Middleton.
Middleton, previously ranked No. 89, moves back six spots but remains in the top 100 players per On3.
The 6-foot-7, 175-pound player is high on Ohio State and according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Buckeyes are the favorite to land Middleton with a 92.2-percent chance.
