Good morning, Ohio State fans, and welcome to the Scarlet Sunrise! Football will always be our focus, but every day we’ll cover news, notes and analysis from across Buckeyes sports. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Ohio State football, recruiting, basketball and more.

Ohio State Big Ten Media Days takeaways

After a jam-packed two days, Big Ten media days have concluded. Here’s what Lettermen Row learned about Ohio State after an afternoon of interviews with Ryan Day, safety Jordan Fuller, defensive end Jonathon Cooper and wide receiver K.J. Hill in Chicago.

Ohio State teams advance in TBT

Both teams containing former Ohio State basketball players won their first-round matchups in The Basketball Tournament on Friday. One of them will advance to the third round, too — because they play each other on Saturday. No. 1 seeded Carmen’s Crew, composed primarily of Ohio State players, rolled to an 88-71 win on Friday. No. 4 seed Big X, a team that includes Keyshawn Woods and C.J. Jackson, won 83-76 to advance.

Carmen’s Crew faces Big X on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

Jim Harbaugh doubles down

Here’s what Jim Harbaugh had to say on Friday in response to questions about his podcast quotes about Urban Meyer being followed by controversy everywhere he’s been:

“[There’s] no context you should know about,” Harbaugh said on Friday in an exchange with Cleveland.com’s Doug Lesmerises. “I don’t think it was anything that was anything new or anything of a bombshell. It’s things that many of you all understand and have written about.

“I don’t see why people are so afraid to say what the think. I mean, maybe that’s something to be examined. I’m giving my opinion. … I’m not into making animal analogies, so the poking the bear thing doesn’t resonate. But there’s really nothing more to say. It was me saying what I think.”

Once again, before we agree to never speak of this again: No one disputes the accuracy of what he said. And he’s obviously allowed to say what he thinks. But when you have a highly publicized 0-4 record vs. someone and you wait until they retire to criticize them, saying what you think makes you look like a jealous idiot who can’t read the room.

Counting down

  • Ohio State vs. Florida Atlantic (season opener): 42 days
  • Ohio State at Michigan: 133 days
