COLUMBUS — The 2021 Ohio State football season is officially underway.

Wednesday morning the Buckeyes took to the practice field for the first time since April and earnestly began their pursuit of a fifth straight Big Ten championship. It was a brisk summer morning, a day that felt like football season in Columbus as the Ohio State team hit the field with palpable energy.

For the media in attendance, it was a chance to se a number of new faces, including 5-star freshman defensive lineman J.T. Tuimoloau. The defensive lineman from Washington was drawing a lot of attention, as expected.

But there’s also a quarterback battle brewing in Columbus and that’s where most in of the day’s observers trained their eyes. It was a just a brief look at the Buckeyes roster on Wednesday morning but the talent was easy to see. C.J. Stroud, Jack Miller and Kyle McCord split snaps evenly from what we could see. Miyan Williams led the running backs ahead of Master Teague, as he continues to get healthy after missing the spring.

And the offensive line, led by Thayer Munford, Nicholas Petit-Frere, Harry Miller and Paris Johnson looked to be in fighting shape. There’s a month of hard work ahead of the Buckeyes but if the morning was an indicator of what to expect, the future remains bright at Ohio State.
