Buckeyes cornerbacks ready for huge test against Indiana
COLUMBUS — Consider the Ohio State defensive backs, just like the overall team, 1-1 in top-five matchups this season. But it's also imperative to consider the competition within those games. The Buckeyes lost to Oregon on Oct. 12, and the secondary was one of the most disappointing things about that loss. The Ducks passing attack, led by a three-man machine at wide receiver, tortured the Ohio State cornerbacks with downfield success against the cornerbacks that were supposed to be a couple of the best nationally. Ohio State turned around three weeks later, though, and beat Penn State in a top-five showdown, and the defense was the story of that game, not giving up an offensive touchdown and holding the Penn State passing attack -- with far worse weapons on the outside compared to Oregon -- in check.
