COLUMBUS — For just the second time, Ohio State will be showing off its all gray uniforms. Yes, the Buckeyes will don gray jerseys and gray pants for their matchup on Saturday against Iowa (3:30 p.m., CBS).

Last season, the Buckeyes debuted their alternate gray unis in a 38-3 win over Michigan State. That game was played at night; the unis looked quite nice in primetime. Now those gray uniforms will appear during an afternoon game.

Ohio State is no stranger to alternate uniforms. It went through a few years of alternate jerseys for the Michigan rivalry during the late 2000s and early 2010s, and then wore a few different jersey combinations during the Urban Meyer era — including all-black looks. The Buckeyes also wore an all-scarlet uniform in 2021.

Now they’re rocking with the all-gray look they debuted last season. It’s making its return against Iowa on Saturday.
