Buckeyes quality control coach placed on administrative leave
COLUMBUS — Ohio State placed defensive assistant Joe Lyberger, who works with the Buckeyes linebackers, on administrative leave in December.
The leave is due to an investigation by the university’s Office of Institutional Equity, an office that handles harassment, discrimination and sexual misconduct.

“My client and I take any allegation of wrongdoing very seriously,” attorney Sam Shamansky, who is representing Lyberger in the case, told the Columbus Dispatch’s Joey Kaufman, who initially broke news that Lyberger was placed on administrative leave by the university. “We respect the process whereby those who are accused have the opportunity to defend themselves, and we look forward to the opportunity.”
Lyberger has been on with the Buckeyes since 2021. He worked at Bucknell and Ohio Dominican prior to joining the Ohio State football staff.
