ATLANTA — Ohio State waited over a month to step back onto a field for a football game. That wait is now over.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium will play host to the 2022 Peach Bowl semifinal between the No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes and No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs. The Buckeyes, reeling from their regular season-ending loss to Michigan, are underdogs for the first time since playing Alabama for a national championship.
The reigning champion Georgia Bulldogs enter the game perfect on the season and champions of the SEC. Kirby Smart’s squad is aiming to become the first back-to-back national champion since 2011-12 Alabama.
Georgia won the only meeting in series history between the Bulldogs and Buckeyes, beating Ohio State 21-14 in the 1993 Citrus Bowl.
