COLUMBUS — If Ryan Day, his Ohio State staff and team can gain as much from this week’s game at heavy underdog Northwestern as they did last week in a 45-0 win over heavy underdog Purdue, then they really might be on to something heading into the Big Ten stretch run. It wasn’t just the win over the Boilermakers that made it a day of growth. The blocked punt gave Day his much-coveted big play finally from special teams.
