COLUMBUS – Ohio State is about to find out some answers to questions it’s had for the last few months.
A multitude of the Buckeyes top prospects have announcements planned for their commitments in the coming weeks. Leading it off is four-star DeMatha Catholic (Fort Washington, Maryland) defensive lineman Jason Moore, who will decide Sunday.
Not only will Ohio State find out about Moore, but it’ll hear about four-star Jesuit (Tampa, Florida) linebacker Troy Bowles on July 16.
Lettermen Row staffers Spencer Holbrook, Andrew Ellis and Matt Parker broke down the potential commits heading Ohio State’s way and more on the latest episode of the Lettermen Row Recruiting Podcast.

The trio broke down potential commitments headed the Buckeyes way, as well as where five-star Mill Creek (Hoschton, Georgia) safety Caleb Downs stands with Ohio State. Earlier in the week, On3’s Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons reported that it’s a three-way race between Ohio State, Georgia and Alabama for Downs. The Lettermen Row crew spoke about the Simmons report and what it would mean for the Buckeyes to land the No. 1 safety in the country.
Even though the July dead period hasn’t provided much hard news, the Lettermen Row crew also touched on four-star Dripping Springs (Dripping Springs, Texas) quarterback Austin Novosad’s current recruitment process and how the intel gathered by reports has him honoring his Baylor commitment. He’s been committed to the Bears since December 2021 but took a visit to Ohio State and Texas A&M this summer where he earned offers from both the Buckeyes and the Aggies.
The staff also played a game of In or Out about Bowles with his announcement imminent.
