Buckeyes blast Youngstown State in early-season tune-up game
COLUMBUS — Ohio State started its Monday by cracking the AP Top 25 for the first time this season. The Buckeyes finished the day by destroying Youngstown State in an early-season tune-up game at the Schottenstein Center.
Kentucky transfer Aaron Bradshaw and freshman sharp-shooter Juni Mobley each had 16 points to lead the Buckeyes in their 81-47 win over the Penguins on Monday night. Bradshaw also grabbed eight rebounds. The win allows the Buckeyes to move to 2-0 early in the season ahead of their second ranked opponent of the year — Friday at Texas A&M.
Duke transfer Sean Stewart (10 points), Bruce Thornton (12) and Meechie Johnson (11) were also all in double figures for Ohio State against the Penguins.
Mobley is the biggest story of the early-season slate for Ohio State. The first-year guard was 3 of 4 from beyond the 3-point line against Youngstown State, following up a brilliant debut against Texas in which he was 4 of 4 from 3-point range and had 14 points.
