Ohio State DB Jordan Hancock selected by Buffalo Bills in fifth round of NFL Draft

COLUMBUS — Ohio State defensive back Jordan Hancock flashed elite versatility in the back end of the Buckeyes defense for years, making him an intriguing sleeper prospect in this draft.
The Buffalo Bills liked his versatility, ball skills and run-stopping ability enough to select him in the fifth round at pick No. 170 overall.
Hancock finished his Ohio State career with 98 combined tackles, four tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, three interceptions, 14 pass breakups and four forced fumbles across four seasons, only two of which came as a full-time starter in the Buckeyes defense.
He was part of the top-ranked Ohio State secondary against the pass in 2023 and top-ranked Buckeyes defense overall during the 2024 season on the way to the national championship win. During that four-game run to the national title, Hancock became even more versatile — playing in the nickel cornerback spot and at deep safety to help this defense keep opposing offenses off balance.
He then ran a blazing 40-yard dash time and tested well elsewhere during the Ohio State pro day back in March.

That versatility and athleticism made him an intriguing draft prospect, and he’s finally off the board at No. 170 overall to the Buffalo Bills.
