On3's Andy Staples shares thoughts on state of The Game, Buckeyes place in national picture
COLUMBUS — Ohio State is in an interesting position.
The Buckeyes have the best odds of any Big Ten program to win the national title, according to nearly all available oddsmakers and oddsboards.
But the Buckeyes also are not even the favorite to win the Big Ten, as Michigan returns nearly its entire team that has won back-to-back Big Ten titles, taking the crown away from Ohio State.
As Ryan Day and his team aim to get back to the top of the Big Ten East — and getting over Michigan is the goal for the program, Ohio State has a loaded and stacked roster. Even with a new quarterback, Ohio State has every tool needed to win the national championship.
Can the Buckeyes get back to being the bully of the conference? Will they finally beat Michigan and get over the hump in the College Football Playoff? What will be the deciding factor for Ohio State in determining the ceiling come December?
