COLUMBUS — Ohio State is spending all summer building toward the Big Ten matchup at Indiana.

That highly-anticipated season-opener in Bloomington now has a kickoff time and television channel set.

Ohio State and Indiana will open the regular season with the Big Ten’s newest broadcast partner. The Buckeyes and Hoosiers will play inside Memorial Stadium at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.

It will be the second time in the last three seasons that the Buckeyes have opened the year with a Big Ten road game, the first coming in 2021 at Minnesota. Ohio State escaped Minneapolis with a 45-31 win over the Gophers two years ago.

The first of three regular-season trips to the Hoosier State (at Indiana, at Notre Dame, at Purdue) will be a huge test for Ohio State as the program breaks in a new full-time starting quarterback, a retooled offensive line and a defense that feels like it has something to prove.

The Buckeyes haven’t lost to Indiana since a tie in 1988. They tied the Hoosiers in 1990 but have since rattled off 27 consecutive wins in the series.

In addition to the game time and TV channel being announced for the season-opening game at Indiana, Ohio State also announced a preliminary time for its annual Homecoming matchup. Homecoming will take place Oct. 7 for the Buckeyes against Maryland. The TV channel is still to be determined for that matchup, but it will kick off at either Noon, 3:30 p.m. or 4 p.m.
