Trio of Buckeyes crack annual college football Freaks List
COLUMBUS — For the second straight year, an Ohio State wide receiver has made the top 10 on Bruce Feldman’s annual College Football Freaks List.
Yes, just one year after star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. was listed as Feldman’s No. 2 Freak in the country, another receiver is near the top — without even playing a snap of college football yet.
Freshman wide receiver and former No. 1 overall prospect in the On3 Rankings Jeremiah Smith landed at No. 7 on Feldman’s annual list, which was released Tuesday morning. South Carolina second-year wide receiver Nyckoles Harbor is the No. 1 player on the list for the second straight year.
Feldman said this about Jeremiah Smith:
This offseason, Smith bench pressed 355 pounds and squatted 530. He broad-jumped 10-10 and vertical-jumped 36 inches. His max speed is jaw-dropping at 23.39 mph.

From there, Feldman made sure to include Buckeyes linebacker Sonny Styles in the list. After appearing at No. 20 last year, Styles is up one spot to No. 19 — even after switching positions from safety to linebacker.

Feldman said this about Styles:
He is 6-4 ½ and 240 pounds — up 12 pounds from last year. Styles still broad-jumped 10-11 and vertical-jumped 39 inches to go with a 600-pound squat.

And then Feldman included one of the Buckeyes’ offensive linemen, adding starting left guard Donovan Jackson to the Freaks List for the first time. Jackson is a three-year starter at left guard and will lead the improved Ohio State offensive line into this season.
Feldman said this about Jackson:
The 6-4, 320-pounder bench pressed 490 pounds this offseason and squatted 610. His agility is just as impressive. His 1.59 10-yard split is faster than any offensive linemen has ever clocked at the NFL combine since the league officially has kept that stat.

Ohio State has one of the best rosters in college football. It’s littered with more than just three freaks. But Feldman had three Buckeyes among his biggest freaks in the sport, the same amount that the Buckeyes had last season.
