COLUMBUS — Cade Stover became one of the go-to Ohio State weapons from his tight end position this season.

The Buckeyes captain be back to do it again next year.

Stover announced his intentions to return to Ohio State for another year with the Buckeyes on Monday morning, putting to rest anu speculation that he might be heading to the NFL Draft after an impressive season at tight end.

“I AM COMING BACK.” Stover said in a tweet sent out Monday.

After bouncing around between defensive end, linebacker and tight end for the first three years of his college football career, Stover became a full-time tight end during the offseason and was the Buckeyes top tight end this season. He caught 36 passes for 406 yards and five receiving touchdowns.

He was also one of the best skill-position blockers on the Ohio State roster during the 2022 season.

All of those skills allowed Stover to begin building a case for an early exit from Ohio State to the NFL. Draft scouts were impressed by his early-season rise, both as a pass-catcher and blocker. But injuries began to slow Stover down during the second half of the year, and he left the Peach Bowl semifinal due to injury, as well.

But that wasn’t the final on-field moment of Cade Stover’s career at Ohio State.

He is coming back for another season and another shot at a national title.
