Buckeyes confident putting Chip Trayanum deep to return kicks

Ohio State found a breakout star at kick returner last season. Emeka Egbuka is a gifted return-man who can threaten to score any time the ball is kicked to him.

Apparently so is former running back-turned-linebacker Chip Trayanum, who was the primary Ohio State kick returner Saturday afternoon against Arkansas State.

Egbuka gave Trayanum an endorsement to be the kick returner, saying that Trayanum might just be better than Egbuka was at that job.

“Chip might even be better than me,” Egbuka said. “You guys are going to see on Saturday. He is a very special talent. One of the most, if not the most, athletic guy on the team. I’m excited to see him return some stuff. … Once he hits that crease, no one on the scout kickoff team has been able to catch him. So, like I said, I wouldn’t be surprised if he took it back.”
