C.J. Stroud still atop Heisman Trophy odds as season hits quarter-mark
Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud is tied for the national lead in touchdown passes so far this season. He has 11.
Those gaudy numbers are keeping him at the top of the Heisman Trophy odds, according to the folks at VegasInsider. He also began the season as the favorite to win the award.
Stroud has lit up the stat sheet so far this season, throwing for 367 yards and five touchdown tosses in the latest Buckeyes win on Saturday against Toledo.
He has a chance to continue playing well and staying atop the Heisman Trophy odds against Wisconsin on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on ABC.

ICYMI: Buckeyes urging fans to participate in ‘Wear Black’ theme against Wisconsin
Ohio State hasn’t worn its black alternate uniforms since 2019. And the Horseshoe hasn’t been painted black since that night in October of that undefeated regular season, either.
The football program announced the Buckeyes will wear all-black uniforms Saturday for the primetime showdown against Wisconsin. And the athletic department is running a theme of ‘Wear Black’ to promote the complete blackout of Ohio Stadium for such a big home game for the Buckeyes.
Ohio State has worn black uniforms three times in program history. The Buckeyes beat Penn State in 2016, Nebraska in 2018 and Michigan State in 2019, all while wearing black on black on black.
That unblemished record will be put to the test Saturday night. And the theme of ‘Wear Black’ is being pushed to make sure fans coming to the game get the message.
