Buckeyes avoid weeknight game, FOX Friday night football slate
COLUMBUS — Ohio State fans, breathe a sigh of relief. The Buckeyes won’t be playing on a Friday night this season.
As for the future, well, FOX appears to be loading up Friday nights with college football action for years to come.
FOX released its full Friday night football slate for the upcoming 2024 regular season on Wednesday, and the Buckeyes aren’t among the 12 Big Ten teams to be featured in the slot that typically — especially in Ohio — is reserved for high school football action.
The Buckeyes are joined by Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, Indiana and Minnesota as teams to avoid playing on FOX’s Friday night football slate.
Oregon, Rutgers, UCLA, Washington, Michigan State and Purdue will all play two Friday night games this season. Michigan State, notably, will travel to Eugene to play Oregon just six days after hosting Ohio State on Sept. 28.

Ohio State has still learned just one kickoff time for its slate so far this offseason, and it was the most obvious choice. The Buckeyes will play Michigan in the Horseshoe on Nov. 30 in a game that will kick off at Noon.
