Buckeyes using Saturday to celebrate 100 years at Horseshoe
Ohio State plays in one of the most iconic venues in all of sport.
So to celebrate the 100th year of playing in the Horseshoe, the Buckeyes have decided that the Homecoming game Saturday against Rutgers is also the perfect time to throw the stadium a nice birthday bash.
The program and athletic department have already unveiled a new permanent historical marker near the iconic rotunda, and they plan to hold an on-field honor at halftime with the family of Howard Dwight Smith, who was the architect of Ohio Stadium.
Plenty of other activities are already underway this season to continue to pay homage to the legendary stadium, and the athletic department will continue to do so throughout the 100th year of the Horseshoe.
The birthday bash? It’s Saturday against Rutgers.
Ohio State extends offer to five-star DL

Hobbs is the No. 130 overall prospect and No. 13 defensive lineman in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus. He is also a four-star recruit and the No. 2 player in North Carolina.
On3 rates Hobbs higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2023 On300, he is a five-star prospect, the No. 23 overall prospect and No. 3 defensive lineman.
