Buckeyes back to full strength defensively, still without TreVeyon Henderson on offense

COLUMBUS — Ohio State will have its full defensive starting lineup back in action against Indiana.

The offense, however, is still far from full-strength.

Cornerback Cameron Brown will be back on the field and in the lineup for the first time in a month when the Buckeyes face Indiana on Saturday. He has been in the ‘unavailable’ category for every game since the win over Michigan State on Oct. 8, but he is not on the report, paving the way for his return.

But offensively, Ohio State is still working through issues. Star running back TreVeyon Henderson will miss his second straight game after being a surprise scratch from the lineup last week at Northwestern. Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who has only appeared in three games this season, is also unavailable.

The other surprise? The Buckeyes offense has a starter listed as a game-time decision. Starting right tackle Dawand Jones will be evaluated before the game to determine his status. The same can be said for reserve running back Chip Trayanum, who has been adding depth to the running back spot after starting the year at linebacker.

So as the Buckeyes get healthier on defense and Brown makes his long-awaited return at cornerback, the Ohio State offense continues to be short-handed. Henderson is out. And if Trayanum joins him as a scratch from action, the Buckeyes running game could be reduced to just two scholarship tailbacks to work with: Miyan Williams and Dallan Hayden.

The full availability report from the program is now confirmed, making note that Ohio State doesn’t detail injury or disciplinary matters.
