TreVeyon Henderson ruled out, Miyan Williams cleared for return in The Game
COLUMBUS — Just as Ohio State is gaining one of its star running backs back in the lineup, it is going to be without another for the biggest game of the year.
TreVeyon Henderson returned to action last week and started for Ohio State. But he clearly wasn’t at 100 percent, and he didn’t play for most of the second half. He has now been ruled out for The Game as the No. 2 Buckeyes prepare to clash with No. 3 Michigan in the Horseshoe.
Henderson has only played once in November while battling through a foot injury, which hampered him yet again in the win over Maryland. While Henderson is out, Buckeyes tailback Miyan Williams, the team’s leading rusher, has been cleared for return.
Williams exited the win over Indiana during the second quarter two weeks ago and didn’t play last week at Maryland due to that injury, one that is believed to be a lower leg issue.
Ohio State was optimistic that Williams would be available for the massive rivalry showdown against the Wolverines, and now that’s official.

Just as Henderson is hitting the shelf, Williams is coming off of it. And the Buckeyes will have at least one of their top two backs for the biggest game of the season. Miyan Williams is ready to help out in the backfield for the Buckeyes in the rivalry game.
Other notes from Ohio State availability report
In addition to the tailback news, Ohio State also announced it will be without star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba yet again. The junior playmaker and preseason Biletnikoff Award favorite has appeared in just three games this fall.
And for the second time in the last three games, Ohio State has one of its starting offensive linemen as a massive question mark. Starting right guard Matthew Jones, who has started all season, is a game-time decision after being helped off the field last week at Maryland.
The full availability report from the program is now confirmed, making note that Ohio State doesn’t detail injury or disciplinary matters.
