Buckeyes running back Miyan Williams ruled out for season
COLUMBUS — Miyan Williams led Ohio State in rushing last season.
After being in and out of the lineup throughout the first eight games of the season, his year is finished.
Williams had a procedure done, according to Ohio State coach Ryan Day, that will force him out of action for the rest of the season. Day announced Williams status during his weekly press conference on Tuesday.
Williams led the Buckeyes in rushing last year and was slated to be part of a two-man running back punch with starter TreVeyon Henderson this year. But after a procedure Williams had, his season has been cut short.
He is out for the rest of the season.
Day did mention that Williams and the Buckeyes are still figuring out his eligibility and whether Williams could potentially return next season. Day said Williams is figuring out his next steps, but the thought of being out for the year is still too fresh to get into the future.

Ransom, one of the Buckeyes stars on the defensive side of the ball this season, did not return to action. It didn’t look good.
But early indications are that Ransom has avoided the worst-case scenario this week, and Ohio State coach Ryan Day declined to set a timetable or provide an update on Ransom’s status ahead of the Buckeyes upcoming road trip to Rutgers this weekend.
“We’ll probably have an update later in the week,” Day said.
Day did mention that the Buckeyes should be able to have a timetable soon for Ransom.
Again, early indications are that Ransom has avoided the worst. But his status remains unknown as Ohio State prepares for scenarios both with and without Ransom in Piscataway this weekend.
Lettermen Row will have more information on Lathan Ransom as it becomes available.
