Buckeyes now favored in potential semifinal, CFP title matchups
Ohio State has been one of the most impressive teams in the country so far this season.
So impressive that the Buckeyes are now favored to win the national title in matchups against both Alabama and Georgia, two of the other top contenders for the College Football Playoff crown. The Action Network released its bowl projections on Monday, and that betting advice service has Ohio State playing Georgia in the CFP semifinal at the Fiesta Bowl in Arizona.
In that matchup, the network has the Buckeyes as a 2.5-point favorite. It also has the Buckeyes advancing to the national title game against Alabama in SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. In that hypothetical matchup, Ohio State would be a 1-point favorite.
So yes, Ohio State has certainly been impressive so far this season, so impressive that the Buckeyes are now favored to win the national championship.

Williams ran 70 yards through the heart of the Rutgers defense on Saturday for his fourth touchdown of the game. His long touchdown run was the highlight of the most productive day in the third-year running back’s career and set the tone for the rest of Williams’ season.
And those around the conference noticed his efforts as Miyan Williams was named the Big Ten offensive player of the week. Williams totaled 189 yards and five touchdowns on 22 carries in No. 3 Ohio State’s 49-10 win over Rutgers on Saturday.
His five rushing touchdowns tied the most scored in a game with Pete Johnson (1974) and Keith Byars (1984) and Williams called it a blessing to be in the same mention as record holders.
