Pair of former Buckeyes star defenders named top-30 NFL players
A pair of former superstar Ohio State defensive ends are once again considered two of the top players in the NFL. And they’re brothers.
Both San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa and Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa were listed among the NFL’s top 30 players. Joey Bosa barely cracked the top 30 during the NFL Top 100 countdown, checking in at No. 30, up two spots from last year. Nick Bosa, who was unranked a year ago, is No. 25 now.
Other former Buckeyes included are Steelers defensive tackle Cameron Heyward (No. 42), Chargers center Corey Linsley (No. 60), Browns cornerback Denzel Ward (No. 87) and Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore (No. 89).
The top 20 will be unveiled Sunday, August 28. More former Buckeyes stars could still be included.
Kamryn Babb ‘taking precautions,’ expecting to be back for Buckeyes
An injury setback is nothing new for Ohio State wide receiver Kamryn Babb. But what is new is just a small injury, one he’ll bounce back from quickly.
After suffering four ACL tears in his career, Babb had a ‘nicked up’ knee injury last week. But the senior captain and wide receiver is tracking for a full comeback in just a few weeks. And in the meantime, he’ll make sure he is fully healthy before he returns.
“I nicked it up a little bit a few days ago,” Babb said Wednesday night. “So just taking precautions and just kind of trying to take it slow, day by day and making sure I’m full go when I’m able to get out there.”
Babb has been waiting for his chance to finally be on the field. And in the next couple of weeks, he’ll finally get that opportunity — after he heals from the latest knee setback.
