COLUMBUS — Another preseason All-American list has been revealed, and yet again, Ohio State is well-represented.

Six Buckeyes were named preseason All-Americans by magazine publisher and notable college football prognosticator Phil Steele. Steele released his teams earlier this week.

It’s headlined, of course, by superstar wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., the lone first-team offensive Buckeyes player. Senior captain linebacker Tommy Eichenberg was also named a preseason All-American by Phil Steele.

As for the second team, three Buckeyes made that team. It’s headlined by star receiver Emeka Egbuka and starting left guard Donovan Jackson, as well as star defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau, who has a chance to work his way into becoming a household name and potential first-round draft choice with a terrific season.

Then there’s the lone third-team selection from Steele. Junior running back TreVeyon Henderson is a third-teamer, according to Steele, who is expecting big things from the Buckeyes bounce-back running back candidate.

Steele didn’t include any Ohio State players on his fourth-team All-American list, leaving off notables like Lathan Ransom and Matthew Jones. Both Buckeyes starters made the fourth-team from Athlon Sports. Other notable snubs include defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. and cornerback Denzel Burke.

Athlon includes eight Buckeyes in preseason All-American team

The Phil Steele preseason All-American team is the second notable team to be released recently. Athlon Sports released its preseason team earlier this month.

Four of the Buckeyes selections are first-team All-Americans for the preseason, and that complete list is highlighted by dynamic wide receivers Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka. They’re joined on the first-team list by a pair of defenders. Eichenberg and Tuimoloau.

No Ohio State players made the second-team All-American list, but the third- and fourth-team squads had plenty of Buckeyes flavor.

Henderson and Donovan Jackson were Buckeyes offensive stars who made the third-team All-American list from Athlon Sports.

And two other Buckeyes cracked the fourth-team list. Ohio State senior starting right guard Matthew Jones enters his second season as a starting offensive lineman and earned a nod on the team. Senior safety and returning leader Lathan Ransom rounds out the Buckeyes representation on the Athlon preseason teams.
