Ryan Day strongly pushes back on wrongdoing in alleged sign-sharing with Purdue

COLUMBUS — Ohio State has yet again been dragged into the Michigan sign-stealing scandal, this time with a ‘whataboutism’ coming from Ann Arbor.
Michigan turned documents over to the Big Ten stating that Ohio State and Rutgers both shared Michigan’s signs with Purdue prior to the Boilermakers loss in the Big Ten title game.
The Wolverines and their athletic department are using those documents to highlight that sign-stealing and sharing happen everywhere. Michigan was allegedly obtaining signs through illegal means during the last two seasons — and now arguing that others have done the same.

On Wednesday night, Ohio State coach Ryan Day was asked about sharing signs with Purdue — and if Ohio State did anything wrong according to Big Ten rules.
Day was strong in his pushback of any wrongdoing.
“I’m not going to get into all of that right now. But I can tell you this right now that nobody here did any of that,” Day said, referring to illegally sharing signals with Purdue. “So, you know, we went through and made sure we went and asked all the questions, got our compliance people involved, and none of that came back at all.
“So I can answer very strongly that that did not happen.”
Day did not provide any further comment.
This is a developing story. Lettermen Row will have more details.
