C.J. Stroud becomes odds-on Heisman Trophy favorite

Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud continues to light up defenses every week for Ohio State.

Now he’s the heavy favorite to win the Heisman Trophy as the season hits the midway point. The folks at VegasInsider released updated Heisman odds, and Stroud is now the odds-on favorite to win the most prestigious award in college sports.

Stroud sits at -140 to win, as of this week as he heads into the Buckeyes idle date. USC quarterback Caleb Williams is at +1000, Alabama quarterback Bryce Young is at +1400, Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker is at +1400 and UCLA quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson currently sits at +1600.

But after his latest six-touchdown game, Stroud is running away as the favorite to win it this season. And he only has a half of a season left to make sure he locks it up to become the eighth Ohio State Heisman Trophy winner.

Taking closer look at Buckeyes blowout road win over Michigan State

With an emphatic 49-20 win over the Spartans, the Buckeyes showed so many signs of dominance — especially in the passing game behind Heisman Trophy favorite C.J. Stroud.

Lettermen Row was in East Lansing to break it all down Saturday, and now it’s inside the Horseshoe to re-examine everything it learned from the game.

How were the Buckeyes able to rack up so many points and yards against a slumping Michigan State team? What are the concerns left on the Ohio State side after the win over the Spartans? What will the Buckeyes correct as they head into the off week before the second half of their season?

Spencer Holbrook and Tim May are breaking down how the Buckeyes fared with the newest Lettermen Row video: The Monday After. Every Monday following Buckeyes games, Tim and Spencer will reconvene and chat about what they saw Saturday afternoon.

Buckeyes draw early kickoff for Iowa matchup

Ohio State has an off week before it squares off with Big Ten foe Iowa.

Now the Buckeyes know exactly when they’ll take on the Hawkeyes — and fans now know how they can watch the game.

Ohio State and Iowa will kick off at Noon on Oct. 22, the networks and Big Ten announced on Monday. Ohio State will play in the Noon slot for the first time this season, and it’ll get the full Big Noon Kickoff treatment from FOX in the process.

The Buckeyes have played three night games and three afternoon games so far this year. They finally have a Noon kickoff for the seventh game of the year.

But before they can get to that Noon slot, they’ll have a week to learn, rest and recover as they prepare to enter a championship chase through October and November — and into December and January.
