Buckeyes reveal themes for home games in upcoming season
COLUMBUS — Ohio State football is nearing its comeback.
The Buckeyes will kick off the season on the road against Indiana on Sept. 2, and they have a rare six-game road slate, meaning they’ll have just six home games for the first time in recent memory, especially since college football moved to a 12-game regular-season slate.
The headliner of the home slate is an Oct. 21 bout against Penn State, one of the biggest games in the entire college football season. The Buckeyes are officially planning to have an all-scarlet crowd pack the Horseshoe for that game with the Nittany Lions. The game time and TV channel haven’t been announced yet, but the theme has been set.
Additionally, Ohio State will host its annual Homecoming game on Oct. 7 against Maryland. That game will kick off at either Noon, 3:30 p.m. or 4 p.m., but it still has not been picked up by a television network just yet.
