COLUMBUS — Another day, another heap of high praise for Ohio State superstar wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

The consensus All-American wide receiver and Biletnikoff Award finalist from last season is racking up offseason recognition, and Monday he earned it yet again. Harrison was named one of the top 10 players in college football entering spring practice, according to On3.

Harrison was the top-ranked non quarterback. He only trails Southern California quarterback Caleb Williams and North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye, two of the frontrunners for next season’s Heisman Trophy.

Why does On3 rank Harrison so high on the list of the best players in college football? Here’s what it had to say about the Buckeyes superstar wide receiver.

3. WR Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State: C.J. Stroud will be one of the top quarterback prospects in this year’s NFL Draft, and he can certainly thank his receivers for plenty of help. Harrison was a massive part of Stroud’s success, dependable even when injuries took away other weapons on the Ohio State offense. He finished his season with 77 catches for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2022.

On3 Staff Report

Harrison has become famous inside the Ohio State practice facility for always being on the practice field, working with the JUGS machine, catching passes. It led to Harrison becoming an All-American and dropping just two passes all season.

He continues to amaze the Ohio State coaching staff.

“I don’t want to embarrass him because he’s sitting right here, but I’m going to anyways,” Ohio State coach Ryan Day said about Harrison in October. “Maybe he won’t like this, but … I’m just walking through the facility, and he’s out there on the JUGS with (walk-on receiver) Reis Stocksdale, going through the script of practice. The game plan, in the facility, by himself, just going over and over and over again.

“I think if you ask anybody on our team, ‘There’s Marvin again, working by himself.’ So this isn’t something – he’s been blessed with a lot of gifts and talent, but he has unbelievable discipline and skill.”

That talent, skill and discipline helped Harrison become an All-American. And it’s the reason he’s ranked so high on On3’s college football player ranking heading into spring ball.
