COLUMBUS — Ohio State continues to find new ways to outdo itself.

The Buckeyes for the second consecutive week opted to receive the opening kickoff and then proceeded to score on their opening drive.

No. 3 Ohio State controlled just about everything in its 52-21 win over Wisconsin on Saturday night.

Running backs TreVeyon Henderson and Miyan Williams set the tone early for the Buckeyes as the duo continue to split the carries. The one-two punch of Henderson and Williams combined for 222 yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries. While that’s a combination, Williams was responsible for both of the touchdowns — one from two yards out and the other from three yards out.

Ohio State totaled 259 rushing yards and follows its created trend of improvement in the ground game weekly.

Of course, the Buckeyes were dominant through the air offensively. Quarterback C.J. Stroud had another banner night as the Buckeyes signal caller. Stroud racked up 281 passing yards and five touchdowns while he completed over 60 percent of his passes. Stroud also threw his first interception of the year.

Cade Stover once again was a versatile weapon for Ohio State. The fourth-year tight end caught his first career touchdown, and then caught another one. Stover ended his night with four catches for 51 yards.

Second-year wide receiver Emeka Egbuka was the Buckeyes’ leading wideout against the Badgers. He had six catches for 118 yards and two touchdowns. Julian Fleming also scored a touchdown in the Saturday night romp.

The Buckeyes’ defense remains just as impressive as their offense. Defensive coordinator Jim Knowles said his unit wasn’t the Silver Bullet caliber last week against Toledo. And while he’ll still have to watch the film, Knowles might have a different assessment for this weekend.

Ohio State held the Wisconsin offense to 258 total yards of offense and limited the Badgers heavily relied on running attack to just 192 yards.

Graduate transfer safety Tanner McCalister got the night started in a big way with an interception. McCalister, who transferred from Oklahoma State, didn’t play last week due to injury. But he did finish with four tackles on top of his interception.

Ohio State (4-0) will enjoy the victory until mid-Sunday and then the mindset shifts toward its first Big Ten East Division opponent in Rutgers.
