Ohio State commits Aaron Scott Jr., Armstrong twins named First-Team All-State
COLUMBUS — The postseason accolades continue to roll in for Ohio State commits.
All week long the Buckeyes of tomorrow have earned all-state recognition and that didn’t stop on Thursday. Three-star Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward offensive linemen Deontae and Devontae Armstrong, and four-star Springfield (Ohio) cornerback Aaron Scott Jr. were named First-Team All-State this afternoon.
The Ohio High School Athletics Association via the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association announced the news Thursday afternoon.
The Armstrongs have been committed to the Buckeyes since March 27 after earning their offer in January. Ohio State has recruited Deontae as an offensive tackle and Devontae as a guard. The Northeast Ohio duo just won their third consecutive Division I state championship.
Looking at Aaron Scott Jr., he had an impressive season with Springfield. The Wildcats had an up-and-down start to the season, but turned things around and wound up playing for a state championship. Scott was recently named a five-star prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings. He is the No. 2 cornerback in the same metric.
All three named commits will be early enrollees at Ohio State in January.
Multiple Ohio State commits earned First-Team, All-State nods
In the Buckeyes’ 2024 class, there are a number of talented in-state commits and on Tuesday two of them got their due credit. Four-star Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville cornerback Bryce West and tight end Damarion Witten were named First-Team All-State Division IV by the Ohio High School Athletics Association.

That rang true once again as multiple Ohio State commits earned First-Team All-State honors from the Ohio High School Athletics Association on Wednesday afternoon. Important Few Weeks
The early signing period opens up in less than two weeks. Dec. 20 is the first day and the period closes on Dec. 22.
All 22 of the Buckeyes’ 2024 commits are expected to sign and send in their letters of intent to the Woody on the 20. That includes guys like Jeremiah Smith and Jeremiah McClellan who have been talked about leaning elsewhere throughout the fall.
Ohio State has the No. 2 2024 class and will welcome another great class into the program come the end of the month.
