COLUMBUS — It only took one visit to Ohio State, but the feeling was always there: Air Noland has committed to the Buckeyes.

The four-star Fairburn (Ga) Langston Hughes quarterback chose Ohio State over Alabama, Arkansas, Clemson, Miami, Oregon and Texas A&M.

Noland announced his decision via YouTube through 247Sports.

Noland is the No. 45 overall prospect and No. 4 quarterback prospect by On3. That’s significantly higher than the On3 Industry Rankings, which have him as the No. 111 overall prospect and No. 10 quarterback.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound left-handed quarterback made his debut visit to Columbus this past weekend, and evidently, it was the most important visit of his recruitment.

Noland spoke with Lettermen Row in January about his budding relationship with Ohio State.

“Ohio State has excelled better and better throughout the years,” Noland told Lettermen Row. “Ohio State has definitely produced NFL talent, but if you look outside of in between the white lines, I think Ohio State is a great community.”

Noland had visited the other programs in his top seven multiple times. Intel had pointed out that he would commit elsewhere, but in the end, the Buckeyes got the quarterback it wanted and needed.

When he released his top seven, Noland had this to say to Jeremy Johnson of On3.

“It speaks for itself. They get Heisman Trophy finalists almost every year. From a quarterback standpoint, they treat their quarterbacks like he’s in the NFL and they develop them like they’re in the NFL. I think the quarterback room at Ohio State has top-tier competition. The guys there are really dialed into Ohio State football and they love getting coached and developed.”

He joins a pair of five-star wide receivers in Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham. Four-star San Antonio (Texas) Veterans Memorial running back James Peoples is in the backfield with Noland. The offensive line is impressive with Ian Moore, Deontae Armstrong, Devontae Armstrong and Marc Nave in the class.

Four-star Sunbury (Ohio) Big Walnut linebacker Garrett Stover remains the lone defensive prospect in the class.

Ohio State loved and lost once at quarterback in the 2024 cycle.

But it’s one step back and three forward as Air Noland has joined the Buckeyes 2024 class.
