The Scoreboard: How Ohio State Commits Performed Oct. 6-7

2024 Ohio State quarterback commit Air Noland was named to the Elite 11 class on Saturday.

COLUMBUS — Ohio State is fresh off its fifth consecutive win of the season and its second Big Ten win after it beat Maryland 37-17 on Saturday

The Buckeyes overcame a slow start, and fueled by a solid defense, found a way to send the Terrapins home with their first loss of the season. While they were working, the future Buckeyes were working too. As always, Lettermen Row goes through the weekend slate and breaks down how each of the Buckeyes’ commits performed over the weekend.

Quarterback

Four-star Fairburn (Ga) Langston Hughes quarterback Air Noland stayed in the win column on Friday with a near-flawless display. He and the Panthers beat Dallas (Ga) East Paulding 54-29 and Noland had a stat line to remember. The lefty went 14-22, 273 yards and three touchdowns. He also had two carries for 20 yards and one rushing touchdown.

2025 four-star Bellefontaine (Ohio) quarterback Tavien St. Clair had himself an explosive Friday night as well. The future Ohio State signal-caller had three passing touchdowns as the Bellefontaine offense totaled over 400 yards.

Running Back

Four-star San Antonio (Texas) Veterans Memorial running back James Peoples made his long-awaited return on Friday. The future Ohio State tailback made a statement in his return: 13 carries, 176 yards and one touchdown.

Four-star Fort Lauderdale (Fla) St. Thomas Aquinas running back Jordan Lyle continued his impressive senior season with a tough stat line. Lyle only had two carries but 35 yards in a 58-0 win.

Three-star Pickerington (Ohio) North running back Sam Williams-Dixon beat Grove City (Ohio) 48-10 on Friday.

Wide Receiver

Five-star Hollywood (Fla) Chaminade-Madonna wide receiver Jeremiah Smith had five catches for 80 yards and one touchdown in a 55-20 win Friday.

Five-star New Haven (Ind) wide receiver Mylan Graham did not dress for his game last week.

Four-star St. Louis (Mo) Christian Brothers wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan defeated Kirkwood (Mo) Vianney 56-7 on Friday. The No. 81 overall prospect had two touchdowns in the win.

2026 four-star Cincinnati (Ohio) Withrow wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. had three catches for 56 yards and two touchdowns in a 46-6 win Friday.

Tight End

Four-star Chattanooga (Tenn) Baylor School tight end Max LeBlanc was on a bye week.

Four-star Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville tight end Damarion Witten scored one touchdown in a loss on Friday.

Offensive Line

Four-star New Palestine (Ind) offensive tackle Ian Moore beat New Castle (Ind) 35-7 on Friday. Moore and the Dragons’ offensive line paved the way for 396 total yards of offense.

Four-star Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward offensive linemen Deontae and Devontae Armstrong won 35-15 on Saturday. The Eagles have won three in a row.

Defensive Line

Five-star Chicago (Ill) St. Ignatius defensive lineman Justin Scott won 50-28 on Friday. Scott consistently made plays for the Wolfpack defense and limited Marian Catholic from scoring in the final quarter.

Five-star Buford (Ga) defensive lineman Eddrick Houston was on a bye week last week.

Three-star Stafford (Va) Mountain View defensive lineman Eric Mensah had nine tackles and three sacks in a win.

Linebacker

Four-star Sunbury (Ohio) Big Walnut linebacker Garrett Stover did not dress last week.

Four-star Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy linebacker Payton Pierce had 10 tackles and led the way to a 63-0 win last week.

Cornerback

Four-star Springfield (Ohio) cornerback Aaron Scott Jr. lost a close one to Centerville (Ohio) on Friday. He continues to see teams play away from him, but his making his mark as the Wildcats quarterback.

Four-star Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville cornerback Bryce West made a few key tackles last Friday in a tough loss to Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban.

Four-star Chandler (Ariz) Basha cornerback Miles Lockhart and the Bears defense survived a 45-44 overtime win. Those 44 points are the most allowed by the Chandler defense all year.

Safety

Four-star West Orange (N.J.) Seton Hall Prep safety Jaylen McClain had 10 tackles in a win.
