Ohio State offers Mater Dei defensive lineman Aydin Breland
COLUMBUS — Ohio State and its Wednesday offer spree continued into the night but the pattern remained the same.
The Buckeyes offered a number of defensive linemen in the middle of the week and the Wednesday offer bonanza ended on the West Coast.
Four-star Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei defensive lineman Aydin Breland announced his offer from the Buckeyes.
Breland is the No. 11 defensive lineman and the No. 103 overall prospect according to the On3 Consensus. Those numbers are skewed by On3 evaluations to No. 16 and No. 223, respectively.
He was the seventh defensive lineman/edge prospect offered by Ohio State on Wednesday, and the second from the West Coast region. Four-star Tucson (Ariz) Salpointe Catholic EDGE Elijah Rushing also announced an offer from Ohio State on Wednesday.

Ohio politicians get involved
Breland had a productive junior season for Mater Dei. He had 24 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, four sacks and four passes defended.
He isn’t the only Mater Dei prospect in the 2024 cycle to hold an Ohio State offer, however. Four-star offensive tackle Brandon Blake is highly recruited by the Buckeyes and continues to be a priority for offensive line coach Justin Frye.
The question to watch unfold, is, will Breland be in the same pursuit?
