Ohio State wide receiver signee Brandon Inniss named Florida Gatorade Player of the Year
COLUMBUS — Brandon Inniss is quickly becoming a man who needs no introduction and he hasn’t even put on the scarlet and gray yet.
The Ohio State wide receiver signee and five-star prospect earned plenty of awards for his play at American Heritage in his senior season. But on Friday he found out he earned one of the biggest awards any high schooler can earn.
Gatorade Player of the Year.
Brandon Inniss is one of the best wide receiver talents in the 2023 cycle and his recruitment didn’t start off with the Buckeyes as his top choice. He originally committed to Oklahoma, but coaching changes led to a decommitment and Ohio State got its guy.
The 6-foot, 190-pound wide receiver had an impressive final year at American Heritage. He totaled 1,336 receiving yards and 15 touchdown catches on 73 receptions through 15 games.
Inniss ended his career in a tough loss to Miami Central in the Florida State Championship game in December, but he had one final crack as a high school football at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas.
He dazzled throughout the week and immediately became a quarterback favorite. Something certain to happen at Ohio State too.

“I think how smart he is and how I can learn,” Inniss told Lettermen Row about what excites him playing for Brian Hartline. “You come in and learn from the best wide receiver coach in college football.
“He’ll make me into a first-rounder, hopefully. At the end of the day, coach Hartline and I, we know what needs to get done.”
Hartline has another impressive wide receiver haul headed his way. Along with Inniss, top-100 prospects Noah Rogers and Carnell Tate, and Bryson Rodgers are going to be Buckeyes.
The culmination of a stellar preps career ends at the All-American Bowl and with a prestigious award for Brandon Inniss.
