Lettermen Row is tracking the Buckeyes recruiting news throughout the signing period as 2024 commitments officially join the Ohio State football program. The latest Letter of Intent is in: Bryce West has signed with the Buckeyes.
COLUMBUS — It was a recruitment over two years in the making. Ohio State had its foot in the door and it started with head coach Ryan Day.
Over time, Bryce West grew into the caliber player that can succeed at the next level. And that includes at Ohio State. The talented in-state cornerback made his verbal commitment over the summer. Now, he’s honored that commitment and has signed his letter of intent.
What does it mean for the Buckeyes moving forward? Lettermen Row breaks it down.
Who is Bryce West?
Bryce West is a four-star cornerback from Cleveland, Ohio, and played at Glenville High School. He is well regarded as one of the best cornerback prospects across the country and certainly one of the best prospects across the country.
He committed to Ohio State in June during his official visit and chose the Buckeyes over Michigan, USC and a number of other impressive schools on an offer sheet nearly 40 programs long.
West is one of three cornerbacks committed to the Buckeyes’ 2024 class.

The relationship grew over time as well. The Buckeyes established stability with the hiring of cornerback coach Tim Walton heading into 2022. Ohio State turned around its defensive struggles in a big way in 2022 and then another big year in 2023.
West always believed in the vision, so when it came time to commit, it was always an easy choice for the 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect.
“For me as an Ohio kid I feel that Ohio State was going to have me well taken care of and the developmental piece here doesn’t get any better,” West told On3. “I have known of this decision for a while. I’ve been up there so many times so I was always like this is the place I need to be at because it fits me best.”
Bryce West will be an early enrollee and will be on campus in January for winter workouts and to jump-start his collegiate career.
