Ohio State offensive commits continue to excel, weekend results

COLUMBUS — Ohio State is entering game week and will hit the road for its first game of the season, but the future of the program already has been under the lights.

High school football opened up throughout parts of the country last week and is now officially back throughout the country. Meaning, every Ohio State commit was in action this past weekend.

Lettermen Row runs through the weekend scoreboard and with stats we’ve gathered.

Quarterback

  • Four-star Fairburn (Ga) Langston Hughes quarterback Air Noland won for the second consecutive week. The future Ohio State quarterback defeated Powder (Ga) McEachern 40-9 on Friday. Noland went 8 for 13, 163 yards and one touchdown.
  • 2025 four-star Bellefontaine (Ohio) quarterback Tavien St. Clair was steady in his 28-25 loss to Coldwater (Ohio) on Friday night. The rising star threw two touchdowns in the loss.

Running Back

  • Four-star San Antonio (Texas) Veterans Memorial running back James Peoples opened up his season with a win on Thursday. The Patriots defeated San Antonio (Texas) Harlandale 42-19.
  • Four-star Fort Lauderdale (Fla) St. Thomas Aquinas running back Jordan Lyle opened his senior season with a 20-7 loss to Bellflower (Calif) St. John Bosco. The Buckeyes’ future running back broke off for a couple of long runs, but did not find the end zone.
  • Three-star Pickerington (Ohio) North running back Sam Williams-Dixon won for the second consecutive week. The Panthers won 35-14 over Gibsonia (Pa) Pine-Richland. Williams-Dixon had 54 yards on 10 carries.

Wide Receiver

  • Five-star Hollywood (Fla) Chaminade-Madonna Prep wideout Jeremiah Smith defeated Baltimore (Md) St. Frances Academy 35-14 on Saturday. The future Ohio State wideout had two catches for 19 yards, and one touchdown.
  • Five-star New Haven (Ind) wide receiver Mylan Graham won for the second consecutive week. In the Bulldogs’ 36-7 win over Fort Wayne (Ind) Bishop Luers, the Ohio State commit had six catches for 55 yards and one touchdown.
  • Four-star St. Louis (Mo) Christian Brothers wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan won his season opener 55-24 over Carmel (Ind). McClellan had several catches including an impressive 52-yard score where he showed off his field vision.

Tight End

  • Four-star Chattanooga (Tenn) Baylor School tight end Max LeBlanc defeated West Orange (N.J.) Seton Hall Prep in Dublin, Ireland, 42-7. LeBlanc had a few catches and one touchdown in the win.
  • Four-star Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville tight end Damarion Witten defeated Powell (Ohio) Olentangy Liberty 34-10. He made plays all around the field lining up as a tight end, wide receiver and was involved in the run game.

Offensive Line

  • Four-star Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward offensive linemen Deontae and Devontae Armstrong defeated Olney (Md) Good Counsel 28-7 on Sunday. The Armstrongs looked very good in the performance, each with a couple of pancake blocks.
  • Four-star New Palestine (Ind) offensive tackle Ian Moore lost 43-42 to Indianapolis (Ind) Decatur Central. Moore and the Dragons’ offensive line paved the way for 312 rushing yards in the loss.
  • Three-star Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic interior offensive lineman Marc Nave defeated cross-town rival Toledo (Ohio) Whitmer 35-8.
