COLUMBUS – The Ohio State coaching staff places a premium on getting prospects to campus for their one-day summer camps and as a result, they host several camps every summer.

Today, Wednesday, June 5, is the first one-day camp of the summer for Ohio State and Lettermen Row will be at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center to take in all the action. Here is a preview of some of the notable prospects that are expected to work out at Ohio State later today.

QUARTERBACK:

Bastrop (Texas) 2027 quarterback Weston Nielsen is the most notable signal-caller who is scheduled to throw at Ohio State today. Baylor, Nebraska, Oregon and Texas Tech have all offered the 6-foot-1 and 175-pound Nielsen.

Another notable quarterback that is expected to throw at Ohio State is Christopher Vargas, a 2028 signal-caller out of Lawrence (Mass.) St. John’s Prep played in the Under Armour 8th All-American game. The 6-foot-4 and 175-pound Vargas already holds offers from Penn State and Syracuse.

RUNNING BACK:

The headliner of the running back group at today’s camp will be Grayson (Ga.) Brookwood 2027 standout Brayden Tyson. Running backs coach Carlos Locklyn offered Tyson at Oregon and then offered him again after arriving at Ohio State. The 6-foot-1 and 215-pound Tyson rushed for 642 yards and four touchdowns as a freshman at the 7A level in Georgia.

One other name to know in the running back group: Nino Hill, a 2025 prospect of Canton (Ohio) McKinley who could end up with a preferred walk-on opportunity at Ohio State.

WIDE RECEIVER:

Two years ago, Ohio State true freshman wide receiver Mylan Graham was brought to an Ohio State camp by his trainer and he left campus with an offer from wide receivers coach Brian Hartline.

That same trainer, Dre Muhamad of TractionAP, is expected to bring another group of wide receivers to Ohio State today. Three-star Fort Wayne (Ind.) Northrop athlete Jerquaden Guilford and Fort Wayne (Ind.) Carroll wide receiver Jaidon Vanpelt are the two top prospects in that group.

Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne 2027 wide receiver Jamier Brown is another notable pass catcher that is expected to camp at Ohio State. Brown holds several Power Four offers and has the speed to be one of the fastest prospects that camps in Columbus this summer. He finished second in the OHSAA Division I 100-meter dash state finals last weekend with a time of 10.72.

TIGHT END:

Four of the top 2026 tight ends in the state of Ohio will camp at Ohio State today: three-star Cincinnati (Ohio) Archbishop Moeller tight end Cooper McCutchan, three-star Cincinnati (Ohio) Princeton tight end Landen Miree, Cincinnati (Ohio) Archbishop Moeller tight end Sam Hamilton and Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic tight end Preston Fryzel. All four have heard from Ohio State tight ends coach Keenan Bailey this spring.

OFFENSIVE LINE:

2025 four-star Massillon (Ohio) Washington offensive tackle Nolan Davenport is perhaps the highly-anticipated prospect who is set to camp at Ohio State today. Offensive line coach Justin Frye has kept a close eye on Davenport since the end of his junior season and today could be the day that he earns the long-awaited Ohio State offer.

There will also be two highly touted 2026 offensive linemen at camp in four-star Washington Court House (Ohio) Miami Trace offensive tackle Adam Guthrie and four-star Prosper (Texas) interior offensive lineman Sean Stover. Guthrie got a visit from Frye this spring and the in-state prospect has the attention of the coaching staff. Stover, on the other hand, was invited to camp by assistant offensive line coach Mike Sollenne and is hoping to put himself on Frye’s radar with a strong camp performance.

Perrysburg (Ohio) 2027 offensive tackle Reed Gerken and Cincinnati (Ohio) Taft 2027 offensive tackle Kalel Johnson are also expected to camp at Ohio State. They are two soon-to-be sophomores who have the potential to be two of the top prospects in Ohio in a few years and Ohio State is aware of both.

DEFENSIVE LINE:

Sticking with the Cincinnati (Ohio) Taft, three-star defensive tackle Drayden Pavey is also expected to camp at Ohio State today. Pavey has official visits scheduled to Purdue, Wisconsin, North Carolina State and Indiana this month but the 6-foot-3, 305-pound prospect will work out for defensive line coach Larry Johnson before taking those visits.

Four-star Bastrop (Texas) defensive tackle Tiki Hola and Pickerington (Ohio) North EDGE Malachi Ervin are two intriguing 2026 defensive line prospects Johnson will also work out today. Hola already holds Power Four offers and Ervin has a pair of MAC offers to his name.

LINEBACKER:

Linebackers coach James Laurinaitis will get to put a top target in the 2026 class throughout a workout today as four-star Loganville (Ga.) Grayson linebacker Anthony Davis is set to camp at Ohio State. Laurinaitis offered Davis in April while he was on campus for the spring game.

Laurinaitis will also get eyes on three talented 2027 prospects. Arlington (Texas) Lamar linebacker Braylon Williams, Bastrop (Texas) linebacker Austin Moilan and Lancaster (Ohio) linebacker Jackson Reynolds are all set to camp. Ohio State offered Williams in May, Moilan already holds an offer from Arizona State and Reynolds is an in-state prospect that visited for a spring practice.

DEFENSIVE BACK:

The group of defensive backs that is scheduled to camp at Ohio State today is loaded. It includes four On300 prospects 2026 class, multiple in-state standouts with offers and a 2027 prospect that has the potential to be on the initial 2027 Top100 watchlist for On3 director of scouting Charles Power.

Four-star Brandon (Miss.) Hartfield Academy safety Bralan Womack is the headliner of the group while four-star cornerbacks Victor Singleton out of Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic, Henry Perrymond out of Cleveland Heights (Ohio) and Jakob Weatherspoon out of Avon (Ohio) are the other three On300 prospects that are expect to camp.

In the 2027 class, Aliquippa (Pa.) cornerback Larry Moon III is a prospect out of Western Pennsylvania who is already generating significant buzz. He visited Ohio State for the visit time this spring and now he will camp for cornerbacks coach Tim Walton.

Three-star Lewis Center (Ohio) Olentangy safety Kaden Gebhardt and Pickerington (Ohio) North standouts Amar’e Miller and Ryan Miller, no relation, are a few additional defensive back prospects that will camp in Columbus that already hold offers.
