Ohio State offers rising defensive lineman prospect Sean Sevillano
COLUMBUS — Ohio State hasn’t wasted any time scouting and offering more prospects in the 2024 cycle.
The Buckeyes have offered 136 different prospects throughout the 2024 cycle and No. 136 announced his offer early Friday afternoon.
Three-star Clearwater (Fla) Clearwater Academy International defensive lineman Sean Sevillano Jr. announced his Ohio State offer.
Sevillano holds only 12 offers right now, but there are plenty of strong programs after him right now. Stanford, Iowa State and West Virginia have all offered. Big Ten programs Indiana and Illinois have also offered Sevillano.
Sevillano is an unranked national prospect by On3. But he is the No. 40 defensive lineman and No. 56 Florida prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking has Sevillano as the No. 908 overall prospect, No. 87 defensive lineman and No. 118 Florida prospect.

Rankings certainly matter most of the time, but rankings makers and scouters aren’t the ones who extend college scholarships for major programs. And if Ohio State thinks Sevillano is worthy of the offer, then clearly there’s a reason why.
Size and production are those two reasons.
He’s a 6-foot-3, 290-pound prospect fresh off an impressive junior season for the Knights. Sevillano totaled 75 total tackles, 21 tackles for loss, 19 sacks and three forced fumbles. The defensive tackle does most of his work from the three-tech position — lined up on the outside shoulder of the offensive guard.
Ohio State has now offered 12 defensive line prospects in the 2024 cycle. The Buckeyes and legendary defensive line coach Larry Johnson are going to have to have a massive 2024 cycle after only bringing in four total defensive linemen and EDGE players in 2023.
Those four are Kayden McDonald, Will Smith Jr., Jason Moore and Joshua Mickens.
Ohio State only has one defensive prospect committed to the 2024 class so far. Four-star Sunbury (Ohio) Big Walnut linebacker Garrett Stover committed back in November.
