COLUMBUS –– Dylan Raiola was already the No. 1 player in the On3 recruiting rankings for the class of 2024.

Now he stands at the top of the consensus rankings.

The 2024 Ohio State five-star quarterback commit recently added another title to his resume: the No. 1 overall player per the On3 Consensus Rankings, which were updated Thursday.

Raiola has long been ranked as the No. 1 player by On3, but the Consensus Board is a culmination of all recruiting websites, and now, Raiola holds a unified top spot.

The Chandler (Chandler, Arizona) quarterback committed to the Buckeyes in early May, and he’s already taken on the role of recruiter himself. His new added-on job should come with a little more ease because of his new overall ranking.

If signing day were today, he’d be the second No. 1 overall quarterback to sign with Ohio State during the Day era. Quinn Ewers signed with the Buckeyes as part of the 2021 class and spent a season in Columbus before transferring to Texas.

Even though the 6-foot-3, 225-pound quarterback is a member of the 2024 class, Dylan Raiola will certainly throw to high-ranked prospects from across classes. The Buckeyes have three wide receivers in the top-10 for the 2023 class: five-star Carnell Tate, five-star Brandon Inniss and four-star Noah Rogers.

While it’s still early in the 2024 cycle, Ohio State has its eyes set on top wide receiver prospects including five-star Joshisa Trader, four-star Jeremiah Smith and four-star Tyseer Denmark. Smith, Trader and Denmark rank as the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 14, respectively.

Along with impressive wide receivers, Raiola will have strong running backs in 2023 Ohio State commit four-star American Heritage (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) running back Mark Fletcher. The Buckeyes are also on the recruiting trail for a pair of 2024 tailbacks with four-star IMG Academy (Bradenton, Florida) Stacy Gage and in-state four-star Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati) Jordan Marshall, among others.

Raiola is expected to visit Ohio State for a game during the 2023 season.

Ohio State currently holds the No. 2 ranked 2023 class, per the On3 Consensus Rankings, and with Raiola as the only committed Buckeye in the 2024 class, it still holds the No. 3 spot in the Big Ten. Don’t expect Dylan Raiola to allow the Buckeyes to run in that third spot for long.
