The Scoreboard: How Ohio State commits performed in Week Three action

COLUMBUS — Ohio State started its season off with a win on Saturday and its commits continue to see success on the field as well.

All 21 commits in the Buckeyes’ 2024 class were back in action Friday-Saturday and so were 2025 quarterback Tavien St. Clair, and 2026 wide receiver Chris Henry Jr.

How did they fare and perform? Lettermen Row breaks it down all in one piece.

Quarterbacks

Five-star Fairburn (Ga) Langston Hughes quarterback Air Noland suffered his first loss since his sophomore season. The Panthers lost 30-27 on Saturday against Matthews (N.C.) Butler. The future Ohio State signal-caller had an up-and-down performance going 16-28 and 196 passing yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.

2025 four-star Bellefontaine (Ohio) quarterback Tavien St. Clair gets back into the win column this week behind a 45-14 win over Pataskala (Ohio) Licking Heights. St. Clair had two touchdown passes in the win.

Running Backs

Four-star San Antonio (Texas) Veterans Memorial running back James Peoples lost 49-17 against San Antonio (Texas) Taft.

Four-star Fort Lauderdale (Fla) St. Thomas Aquinas running back Jordan Lyle ran for one touchdown in his 49-0 win over Fort Myers (Fla).

Three-star Pickerington (Ohio) North running back Sam Williams-Dixon ran for one touchdown in his win 28-8 win over Upper Arlington (Ohio).

Wide Receivers

Five-star Hollywood (Fla) Chaminade-Madonna wide receiver Jeremiah Smith moves to 2-0 on the season after a 41-4 win over Fort Lauderdale (Fla) Cardinal Gibbons. The future Buckeye had one touchdown and 93 receiving yards on eight catches.

Five-star New Haven (Ind) wide receiver Mylan Graham continues his impressive senior season with a 48-28 win over Waterloo (Ind) DeKalb. Graham had 123 receiving yards and one touchdown on nine catches.

Four-star St. Louis (Mo) Christian Brothers wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan lost 45-31 at Bryant (Ark). The future Ohio State wideout hauled in one touchdown in the loss.

2026 four-star Cincinnati (Ohio) Withrow wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. defeated Lima (Ohio) Senior 42-6.

Tight Ends

Ohio State tight end commit Max LeBlanc had an impressive Friday night. The four-star Chattanooga (Tenn) Baylor School weapon hauled in two touchdown receptions in his 51-21 win over White Plains (N.Y.) Archbishop Stepinac.

Four-star Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville tight end Damarion Witten suffered his first loss of the season in a tight 24-16 game against Avon (Ohio).

Offensive Line

Four-star New Palestine (Ind) offensive tackle Ian Moore won his first game of the season against Yorktown (Ind) 30-22. The Dragons’ offensive accumulated 333 total yards.

Ohio State’s twin offensive line commits Deontae and Devontae Armstrong move to 3-0 behind a 42-14 win over Upper Marlboro (Md) Rock Creek Christian.

Three-star Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic interior offensive lineman Marc Nave won 42-21 over Novi (Mich) Catholic Central.

Defensive Line

Five-star Chicago (Ill) St. Ignatius defensive tackle Justin Scott lost 27-17 against Oak Park (Ill) Fenwick.

Five-star Buford (Ga) defensive lineman Eddrick Houston defeated Kennesaw (Ga) North Cobb 45-28. Houston had five tackles, one tackle for loss, one quarterback hurry and one blocked field goal.

Linebackers

Four-star Sunbury (Ohio) Big Walnut linebacker Garrett Stover won his first game of the season, a 48-14 final over Franklin (Ohio).

Four-star Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy linebacker Payton Pierce defeated Argyle (Texas) 42-14 Friday night. Pierce and the Leopards’ defense held Argyle to under 200 yards.

Secondary

Ohio State’s in-state cornerback duo of Aaron Scott Jr. and Bryce West both lost this weekend. Scott, the four-star Springfield H.S. star suffered a 21-20 loss to Trotwood-Madison. West lost 24-16 to Avon.

Four-star Chandler (Ariz) Basha cornerback Miles Lockhart lost 22-21 against Gilbert (Ariz) Highland.

Four-star West Orange (N.J.) Seton Hall Prep safety Jaylen McClain lost 33-20 against Sparta (N.J.) Pope John XXIII. McClain had eight tackles in the loss.
