COLUMBUS — Ohio State is fresh off a successful mini homestand. There was never a doubt that the Buckeyes wouldn’t beat FCS Youngstown State and Western Kentucky, but the success we’re looking at is on the recruiting trail.

Ohio State hosted well over two dozen recruits over the last two weekends inside Ohio Stadium. Some of those prospects are high-level targets and others are just getting started in their recruiting process. And of course there were a collection of committed prospects there too.

Co-hosts Spencer Holbrook and Matt Parker dive right into the latest news regarding Ohio State on the trail and that was about new commit Eric Mensah.

Three-star Stafford (Va) Mountain View defensive lineman Eric Mensah flipped his commitment from Virginia Tech to Ohio State on Sept. 15. The No. 15 prospect in Virginia, per On3, earned his Ohio State offer back in June but didn’t announce it on social media.

The Buckeyes were working in the shadows, however, to flip the 6-foot-3, 265-pound defensive tackle. He detailed his decision with Lettermen Row and the show goes a little in depth about that.

ICYMI: ‘I knew I had to be there’: How Ohio State flipped defensive lineman Eric Mensah

The show continues with the latest On300 update in the 2024 cycle. Ohio State saw 12 of its 22 committed prospects land inside the On300 with 11 of those 12 inside the top 150. Four-star Fort Lauderdale (Fla) St. Thomas Aquinas running back Jordan Lyle, four-star Sunbury (Ohio) Big Walnut linebacker Garrett Stover and four-star St. Louis (Mo) Christian Brothers wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan all saw a major boost.

Lyle moved up 27 spots, Stover moved up 29 spots and McClellan moved up 46 spots — the Buckeyes’ biggest riser.

As the conversation about the rankings ended, the Lettermen Lounge steered toward the potential of flipping four-star Fort Lauderdale (Fla) St. Thomas Aquinas wide receiver Chance Robinson. Robinson visited Ohio State for the Western Kentucky game as a Miami commit.
