COLUMBUS — Ohio State has found an in-state diamond in the rough.

Ontario (Ohio) athlete Bodpegn Miller has committed to the Buckeyes. Miller chose Ohio State over an offer sheet that included Boston College, Iowa State, Northwestern and others. He is not yet ranked by On3 or in the On3 Industry Rankings.

The 6-foot-4 and 180-pound Miller camped at Ohio State on June 13 and caught the attention of wide receivers coach Brian Hartline with his performance. Hartline asked Miller to come back to Columbus on Tuesday for Ohio State’s 7-on-7 camp to see if he could replicate his previous performance. After one game with the house team, Hartline offered him a scholarship, a dream moment Miller had been waiting for.

Miller, who plays quarterback for his high school team, threw for 2,328 yards and 19 touchdowns while rushing for 1,003 yards and 17 touchdowns as a junior. He is also a track star at Ontario. He finished sixth in the 200-meter dash at the OHSAA Division II Track & Field state finals this spring and was the anchor leg on Ontario’s 4×400 team that finished 5th in the state.

Miller joins a wide receiver class that features four-star Quincy Porter out of Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic and four-star De’zie Jones out of Wayne (NJ) DePaul Catholic.

Those three join five-star Bellefontaine (Ohio) quarterback Tavien St. Clair, four-star Cleveland (Ohio) Villa Angela-St. Joseph running back Bo Jackson, three-star Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joseph’s Prep running back Isaiah West, four-star Washington (Okla.) tight end Nate Roberts and four-star Toledo (Ohio) Whitmer offensive tackle Carter Lowe in Ohio State’s offensive class.

On the other side of the ball, the secondary headlines Ohio State’s defensive recruiting class with five-star Plus+ cornerbacks Devin Sanchez out of Houston (Texas) North Shore and Na’eem Offord out of Birmingham (Ala.) Parker committed. The Buckeyes also have a trio of talented safeties committed four-star Olney (Md.) Good Counsel safety Faheem Delane, four-star Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic safety DeShawn Stewart and three-star Cleveland (Ohio) St. Ignatius safety Cody Haddad.

Four-star Philadelphia (Pa) Imhotep Institute EDGE Zahir Mathis, four-star Bradenton (Fla) IMG Academy EDGE London Merritt, four-star Port St. Lucie (Fla) Vero Beach linebacker Tarvos Alford and three-star Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban linebacker Eli Lee complete the 2025 class for Ohio State.
