COLUMBUS — Ohio State routinely recruits, lands commitments and signs some of the best players in the country.

The 2024 cycle has not been an exception for head coach Ryan Day and his staff. The Buckeyes have 22 verbal commitments in their 2024 class with the chance to add more throughout the fall. While some of the commits are going to be development projects for the staff, there is a handful that boasts impressive skill sets right now.

On3 updated its 2024 rankings Monday afternoon where several Ohio State commits land inside the On300. Lettermen Row breaks down the rankings update and where the Buckeyes’ commits land.

Let’s take a look.

Jeremiah Smith

  • Status: Five-star
  • New Ranking: No. 2 overall, previously No. 2

Five-star Hollywood (Fla) Chaminade-Madonna Prep wide receiver Jeremiah Smith is inching toward that No. 1 overall prospect spot. The 6-foot-3, 198-pound wideout remains locked in at the No. 2 spot and is Ohio State’s highest-rated committed prospect.

Justin Scott

  • Status: Five-star
  • New Ranking: No. 10 overall, previously No. 11

Five-star Chicago (Ill) St. Ignatius defensive tackle Justin Scott slides down six spots in the recent On3 rankings update. Scott committed to Ohio State on July 2 which was a major victory on the recruiting trail.

Mylan Graham

  • Status: Five-star
  • New Ranking: No. 13 overall, previously No. 13

Five-star New Haven (Ind) wide receiver Mylan Graham remains locked in at the thirteenth spot in the updated On3 rankings. Graham finished his senior season with 566 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 39 receptions.

Aaron Scott Jr.

  • Status: Four-star
  • New Ranking: No. 25 overall, No. 31 previously

Four-star Springfield (Ohio) cornerback Aaron Scott Jr. remains the highest-rated Ohio prospect and one of the more elite cornerbacks in the 2024 cycle. The 6-foot, 180-pound cornerback hasn’t racked up many defensive statistics this season as a result of opponents’ game planning away from him.

Scott, however, has been a force in the playoffs with an interception in each game. Springfield won the regional championship over the weekend and plays in the state semifinal this weekend.

Jordan Lyle

  • Status: Four-star
  • New Ranking: No. 39 overall, previously No. 42

Four-star Fort Lauderdale (Fla) St. Thomas Aquinas running back Jordan Lyle continues to see his stock in the On300 rankings rise. The third of three running backs committed to the Buckeyes has rushed for 901 yards and 14 touchdowns this fall.

Jeremiah McClellan

  • Status: Four-star
  • New Ranking: No. 58, previously No. 81

Four-star St. Louis (Mo) Christian Brothers wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan saw another massive rise in his ranking. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound wide receiver is the third receiver committed to the Buckeyes’ 2024 class.

Bryce West

  • Status: Four-star
  • New Ranking: No. 62, previously No. 69

Four-star Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville cornerback Bryce West rose back up in the On3 rankings. West, like his classmate Aaron Scott Jr., has not seen much action his way on Friday nights. He is back in contention for a state championship, however, after winning a regional championship over the weekend.

Eddrick Houston

  • Status: Four-star; Industry-Ranked five-star
  • New Ranking: No. 67, previously No. 60

Four-star Buford (Ga) defensive lineman Eddrick Houston sees a slight drop in the rankings. The future Ohio State Rushman also has seen a position switch in the rankings going from a defensive lineman to an EDGE.

Air Noland

  • Status: Four-star; Industry-Ranked five-star
  • New Ranking: No. 75, previously No. 50

Four-star Fairburn (Ga) Langston Hughes quarterback Air Noland falls 25 spots in the latest rankings update. The left-handed quarterback and Ohio State commit ended his senior season on Friday. Noland finished the year with 1,915 yards and 20 touchdowns on a 65 percent completion rate.

James Peoples

  • Status: Four-star
  • New Ranking: No. 135, previously No. 135

Four-star San Antonio (Texas) Veterans Memorial running back James Peoples remains locked in at No. 135 overall in the On300. In minimal action this fall, Peoples has accumulated 683 rushing yards and six touchdowns in only three games.

Garrett Stover

  • Status: Four-star
  • New Ranking: No. 150, previously No. 142

Four-star Sunbury (Ohio) Big Walnut linebacker Garrett Stover fell a few spots in the latest rankings update. He has been a staple in the Ohio State class and a massive peer recruiter for the Buckeyes. Stover finished his senior season a few weeks ago and will be on campus in January.

Jaylen McClain

  • Status: Four-star
  • New Ranking: No. 154, previously No. 156
