The Early-Signing Period is here and Ohio State is set to once again bring in one of the country’s best recruiting classes. Lettermen Row is tracking the Buckeyes recruiting news throughout the signing period as 2023 commitments officially join the Ohio State football program. The latest Letter of Intent is in: Josh Padilla has signed with the Buckeyes.
COLUMBUS — Josh Padilla is one of the longest verbally committed prospects in the Ohio State 2023 class.
And now he is one of the first to turn in his freshly signed National Letter of Intent to the Buckeyes.
What does the signing mean for Ohio State? Let’s break it down.
Who is Josh Padilla?
Josh Padilla is a 6-foot-4, 285-pound interior offensive lineman who committed to Ohio State on Nov. 4, 2021. Padilla held Ohio State as his clear-cut top school, but he collected 15 offers throughout his recruitment.

On3 Ranking: Three-star, Unranked overall, No. 45 IOL, No. 22 Ohio

As mentioned, Padilla is one of the longest-tenured verbal commits Ohio State has had in this class. In a newfound era of decommitting and the NIL craze, Padilla has remained as loyal as they come.

His loyalty is certain to pay off when he arrives in Columbus and learns under offensive line coach Justin Frye. That offensive line room sees four new additions counting Padilla. Luke Montgomery, Austin Siereveld and Miles Walker round out the 2023 offensive line class.
How did Padilla end up at Ohio State?
Much like fellow offensive line commit Luke Montgomery, it was the culture, brotherhood and home feel that won over Padilla.
“It was just every single game I went to,” he told Lettermen Row after he committed. “I was like ‘Man, this place is home.’ So I’d just keep going back to Ohio State and I found more and more that the place is just going to be like home.”
Josh Padilla made it official on Wednesday.
