Ohio State aces massive recruiting weekend at spring game
COLUMBUS — Ohio State has had arguably the best recruiting run of any program across the country this spring.
The Buckeyes entered March with the No. 4 class and only three commits in the class. They now hold the No. 1 class with 12 impressive prospects ready to be Buckeyes. Ohio State’s recruiting run started on March 8 when three-star Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic interior offensive lineman Marc Nave pledged to the Buckeyes.
From there the following prospects chose Ohio State over a number of schools: Deontae Armstrong, Devontae Armstrong, James Peoples, Mylan Graham, Payton Pierce, Air Noland, Max LeBlanc and Sam Williams-Dixon.
Will the momentum continue or has it slowed down for the time being?
That’s where the conversation starts in the latest episode of the Lettermen Lounge.
Hosts Spencer Holbrook and Matt Parker step back into the Lettermen Lounge where the duo discussed the recent recruiting run at the Buckeyes’ have ran.
Ohio State needs to have one of the best recruiting classes in the 2024 cycle after a 2023 cycle that featured misses, wrong-way flips and decommits. Even with that, the Buckeyes signed a top-five class, but the 2024 class is shaping up to potentially finish in the top three.
The conversation dives into the two most recent commitments Ohio State earned — LeBlanc and Williams-Dixon. Ohio State landed two versatile players with those two commitments. LeBlanc is an athletic tight end and another weapon for the Buckeyes in the passing game. Williams-Dixon has position versatility and can play as a running back, slot receiver and even a defensive back.

Those two commitments happened on Saturday around the spring game while a number of prospects were at the game. One of the biggest names at the game was 2025 five-star Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day School offensive tackle David Sanders.
Sanders entered the stadium with former Ohio State left tackle Paris Johnson Jr., and then spent time with all four of the Buckeyes’ 2024 offensive line commits.
He is one of the most sought-after prospects in the 2025 cycle, and the Buckeyes are after him.
In the 2024 cycle, however, the Buckeyes had one of their big defensive targets in town with four-star Tampa (Fla) Wharton EDGE Booker Pickett Jr.
All of this and more was discussed in the latest episode of the Lettermen Lounge, which you can watch here, or below.
