Lettermen Lounge: Ohio State commits stock rising, storylines and bold predictions
COLUMBUS — Would it really be an Ohio State game week if we didn’t talk about recruiting?
Of course it would, but where is the fun in not including the topic that never has an offseason? The Buckeyes have 21 commits to their 2024 class and all 21 of them have been under the Friday night lights at least once this year.
Lettermen Row has watched four of them, three in person, and the fourth in-person report is a little over 24 hours away. That’s where the latest episode inside the Lettermen Lounge begins.
Co-Hosts Spencer Holbrook and Matt Parker dive right into Lettermen Row’s time on the road already this fall. Last weekend we watched four-star Sunbury (Ohio) Big Walnut linebacker Garrett Stover in action on Friday. The weekend ended with four-star Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward twin offensive linemen commits Deontae and Devontae Armstrong.
Stover’s biggest gains in his game this offseason have been on the mental aspect of the game. The No. 11 linebacker in the country via On3 spends more time watching film this season than he has in all three years of his varsity experience.

As for the Armstrong twins, they have made massive strides both physically and mentally. A year ago they looked more like Big Ten linebackers and now they look like two Ohio State-bound offensive linemen. They both held their own against a very impressive Olney (Md) Good Counsel defensive front that includes four-star EDGE and Clemson commit Darien Mayo.
But the show doesn’t end there. With the Buckeyes just a few days away from their season opener, we use the moment to list out a few priorities for Ohio State on the recruiting trail.
Whether it’s more defensive linemen and safeties, or making sure five-star Hollywood (Fla) Chaminade-Madonna wide receiver commit Jeremiah Smith stays in the class, there is plenty to keep Ohio State busy until signing day.
And lastly, both Matt and Spencer give a bold prediction for the Buckeyes on the recruiting trail.
