COLUMBUS — Ohio State is just a few odd weeks away from officially closing the binder with its 2023 recruiting notes.
The Buckeyes had many highs and just as many lows in the recruiting cycle. They had big gets and big misses, similar to every recruiting cycle for the Big Ten’s longtime crown jewel.
And much like every recruiting cycle, Ohio State was well represented at the annual All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas. It had seven signees attend the week-long event, capped off with the game on Jan. 7.
Brandon Inniss, Carnell Tate, Luke Montgomery, Malik Hartford, Calvin Simpson-Hunt, Lincoln Kienholz and Joshua Mickens, all future and some current Buckeyes attended the event.
All seven of them impressed in their own ways, but collectively, they painted a very bright picture for the Buckeyes’ future.
And that’s where the conversation starts in the newest episode of the Lettermen Lounge with Lettermen Row staffers Matt Parker and Spencer Holbrook.
Lettermen Row was boots-on-the-ground all week in San Antonio for the All-American Bowl and on the show, Matt broke down the performances of all seven signees.

Of course, the two wide receivers stood out as did cornerback Calvin Simpson-Hunt, but there were smaller names who did more for their game.
Malik Hartford balled out. Lincoln Kienholz showed why he signed with Ohio State. Joshua Mickens displayed how talented he could be. Luke Montgomery established on a national stage his versatility.
The conversation went in depth about all seven Buckeyes and for the three early enrollees — Hartford, Montgomery and Tate — how they can build upon their performances into the spring.
