Signed: Buckeyes add Arizona native Miles Lockhart to the program
The Early-Signing Period is here and Ohio State is set to once again bring in one of the country’s best recruiting classes. Lettermen Row is tracking the Buckeyes recruiting news throughout the signing period as 2024 commitments officially join the Ohio State football program. The latest Letter of Intent is in: Miles Lockhart has signed with the Buckeyes.
COLUMBUS — Ohio State earned verbal commitments from three very impressive cornerbacks in the 2024 cycle.
Among them is Miles Lockhart. The moment Ohio State offered in November 2022, he had a feeling that he would be a Buckeye, but he had to make sure the feeling was right.
The Arizona native took his visits to Ohio State and elsewhere, but no place ever came close to Columbus. And now he’s honored his verbal commitment and signed his letter of intent.
What does it mean for Ohio State? Lettermen Row breaks it down.
Who is Miles Lockhart?
Miles Lockhart is a four-star cornerback from Chandler, Arizona, and played at Basha High School. He is one of the more underrated prospects in the Buckeyes’ 2024 class, but he’s going to make an impact once he gets on campus.
The 5-foot-10, 180-pound defensive back chose Ohio State over a list that included Oregon, Utah, Arizona, Arizona State and many more.
Lockhart was the second cornerback committed to Ohio State in the 2024 cycle.

Walton and Lockhart’s dad have a friendship that goes a long way back. But it wasn’t just a friendship that earned Lockhart the Buckeyes’ attention. His play on the field as one of Arizona’s most feared lockdown cornerbacks did that.
He made two unofficial visits to campus before he made his long-awaited official visit in June. During that official visit, he gave his silent commitment, but announced on July 6, his grandmother’s birthday.
“Relationships are a really big thing,” Lockhart told Lettermen Row before his announcement. “And I built the strongest relationship with all of these coaches and the staff.
“I really enjoy talking with those dudes and being there, like I always can’t wait to get back to Columbus.”
